A beautiful finishing process: flush-cut
Flush-cutting is a process in which the bookcase and book block together are cut into the same size, which makes the grey board cardboard nicely visible. The special feature of this version is that the opening side of the book block is not cut to size, but purely and only the top and bottom. The opening side has an overlap of 1.5 mm; this gives a surprising effect when opening the book.
A nice detail in the book block is the added black pages that are tipped-in on 3 places between the sections. This coloured paper (Sirio Colore) has a higher grammage. The booktitle is silkscreen printed on 4 different coloured papers, giving each edition its own look.
