Playing around with a surprising 3-D effect

We made a die-cut through the frontside of the book case, so that the full-colour printed endpaper is already visible through the book case. For the finishing touch, a black hard-cardboard was chosen for the book case, so that the inner part of the die-cut is even more beautiful as a whole. To avoid issues in strength differences between the front- and back case, the back case must also be provided with the (unfortunately more expensive) black hard cardboard. The book case is printed in 5 colours (CMYK + PMS gold) and provided with a soft touch laminate. A sensitive pleasure!
